Cindi Bockwitz is a Licensed Professional Counselor & Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist & Supervisor, and Psychometrician. Her journey has taken her from her rural roots in Minnesota, to Florida, California, Georgia, and Texas. She returned to the south in 1993 and has made her home in the Atlanta area since that time. Cindi
offers counseling, life coaching, therapy, consultation and training to
children, adolescents, adults, families, and organizations using predominantly
person centered and family systems approaches and play therapy for children.
This combination of approaches believes that every person has worth and
value, and emphasizes people’s
natural tendencies to move toward growth, fulfillment, and health, as
well as their intrinsic (internal) ability to do so when given the right
tools. These approaches facilitate the creation of an “emotionally
corrective” therapeutic
relationship in which individuals learn to feel accepted and encouraged
to begin and continue the process of self-exploration and self expression.
Growth involves changing our ways of perceiving and experiencing the world. Our belief systems are composed of attitudes, prejudices, beliefs, assumptions, and expectations we bring to our current relationships from our families of origin. The process of growth does not occur by “chance”, but involves an unfolding of order and complexity which is a learning process involving autonomy, choice, and support. Our experience of being healthy involves the physical, psychological, and spiritual integrity among those components. It also involves learning how to develop a healthy relationship between ourselves and the world-at-large. The goal of therapy is to integrate one’s fragmented, incongruent, or distorted parts into a balanced, self-empowered, and unified “whole.” Please visit the following links for more information:
